Durango — 6 nights

Originally a frontier mining town, Durango is known today for its scenic setting, outdoor activities, and the 1880s steam-powered railway that takes visitors through sections of the mountains where roads don't reach.
Your day by day itinerary now includes RIO EPIC Outfitters, Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and Museum, Mild to Wild Rafting and Jeep Tours, and other attractions you added. Discover out-of-the-way places like Perimeter Trail and Piedra River Trail. Escape the urban bustle at River Rafting & Tubing and Piedra Falls. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Durango: Petroglyph Point Hike (in Mesa Verde National Park), Bear Creek Falls (in Telluride) and San Juan River Walk (in Pagosa Springs). And it doesn't end there: trek along Cascade Falls Park, get outside with Imogene Pass, examine the collection at Durango Fish Hatchery and Wildlife Museum, and take in the dramatic natural features at North Clear Creek Falls.

To see other places to visit, where to stay, and other tourist information, go to the Durango trip itinerary planner.
