Located just 140 km (90 mi) from Cuba, Key West is an island only about 6.4 km (4 mi) long and 1.6 km (1 mi) wide.
Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: admire the natural beauty at Audubon House & Tropical Gardens, steep yourself in history at Truman Little White House, then see the interesting displays at The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Saint Mary Star of the Sea, and finally stroll the grounds of Key West Cemetery.

Minneapolis to Key West is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and ferry; or drive. The time zone changes from Central Standard Time to Eastern Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. Prepare for much warmer weather when traveling from Minneapolis in March: high temperatures in Key West hover around 79°F and lows are around 69°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Sat) early enough to catcht the bus to Marathon.

A tiny city just 16 km (10 mi) long, Marathon is spread across several islands in the middle of the Florida Keys.
Start off your visit on the 31st (Sun): pause for some serene contemplation at San Pablo Catholic Church, kick back and relax at Sombrero Beach, and then admire the majestic nature at Bahia Honda State Park.

Take a bus from Key West to Marathon in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In March, daily temperatures in Marathon can reach 81°F, while at night they dip to 69°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Key Largo.

On the 1st (Mon), pause for some serene contemplation at Key Largo Baptist Church, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center.

Getting from Marathon to Key Largo by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Plan for a bit cooler nights when traveling from Marathon in March since evenings lows in Key Largo dip to 63°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Mon) early enough to go by car to Orlando.

Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Tue): try out the rides at Discovery Cove. Traveling by car from Key Largo to Orlando takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In April in Orlando, expect temperatures between 84°F during the day and 65°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Wed) so you can drive to Miami.
