Venice of America

Known as the "Venice of America" because of its extensive network of navigable waterways, Fort Lauderdale welcomes over 10 million annual visitors, most of them attracted by the city's popular beaches and marinas.
Get out of town with these interesting Fort Lauderdale side-trips: Village of Merrick Park (in Coral Gables), Miami (Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Bayside Marketplace, &more) and Miami Beach (Britto Central, Lincoln Road, &more). There's lots more to do: discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, explore the gorgeous colors at Spiegel Grove, look for gifts at To the Moon, and enjoy the sand and surf at Las Olas Beach.

To find where to stay, other places to visit, more things to do, and other tourist information, you can read our Fort Lauderdale trip planner.
