An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.

Deepen your sense of the past at sights like The Strand and The Seawall. Get outdoors at Quintana Beach and El Jardin Del Mar. Venture out of the city with trips to Battleship Texas State Historic Site (in La Porte), Kemah (Boardwalk Beast, Kemah Boardwalk, &more) and Surfside Beach (in Surfside Beach).
