Glacier National Park

— 7 nights

Crown of the Continent

The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Museum of the Plains Indian and Lodgepole Gallery and Tipi Village will appeal to museum buffs. Get a sense of the local culture at Garden Wall and Eric Thorsen Art Studio. Venture out of the city with trips to Polebridge (Home Ranch Bottoms & The Polebridge Mercantile), River Rafting & Tubing (in West Glacier) and Willow's HuckleberryLand (in Hungry Horse). Spend the 15th (Thu) exploring nature at Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. The adventure continues: explore the striking landscape at Grinnell Glacier, take in the dramatic scenery at Virginia Falls, trek along Iceberg Lake Trail, and stroll through Trail of the Cedars.

For maps, ratings, other places to visit, and tourist information, refer to the Glacier National Park travel route planning website.

In July, daytime highs in Glacier National Park are 85°F, while nighttime lows are 49°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
