Textile Center of the World

The largest city in "upstate" South Carolina, Greenville has grown around the natural wonders of waterfalls located in the downtown area.
Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Oconee Station State Historic Site and Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Falls Park on the Reedy and Bob Jones University Museum & Gallery. Change things up with these side-trips from Greenville: Crystal Mountain Gem Mine (in Brevard), Stumphouse Mountain Tunnel (in Walhalla) and Miller's Land of Waterfall Tours (in Rosman). A rapidly growing city in central North Carolina, Charlotte is the state's largest urban center and a major regional hub for finance, industry, technology, and entertainment.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Levine Museum of the New South and Historic Latta Plantation. Appreciate the collections at Mint Museum Uptown and The Schiele Museum of Natural History. Take a break from Charlotte with a short trip to Crowders Mountain State Park in Kings Mountain, about 42 minutes away.
