You can drive from Kailua to Haleiwa in an hour. Another option is to take a bus. Traveling from Kailua in August, plan for slightly colder nights in Haleiwa, with lows around 70°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 9th (Fri) to allow time for the car ride back home.
