Start off your visit on the 12th (Sat): don't miss a visit to Tappan Zee Bridge, explore the different monuments and memorials at Old Dutch Church and Burying Ground, and then admire all the interesting features of Kykuit. Get out of town with these interesting Poughkeepsie side-trips: Mohonk Preserve (in New Paltz), Pride of the Hudson (in Newburgh) and Storm King Art Center (in New Windsor). There's still lots to do: take in the views from Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park, relax in the rural setting at Shunpike Dairy, contemplate the long history of Historic Huguenot Street, and get lost in a book at Franklin D.
