Fewer than 400 people call Keystone home year-round, but the population explodes in summer when crowds flock to nearby Mount Rushmore.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Sat): discover the riches below the earth's surface at Big Thunder Gold Mine, then see the interesting displays at National Presidential Wax Museum, then stop by Goodtyme Photo, and finally go for a walk through Breezy Point Picnic Area. Keep things going the next day: explore and take pictures at Mount Rushmore National Memorial, learn more about the world around you at The Museum @ Black Hills Institute, then do a tasting at Twisted Pine Winery, and finally take in the dramatic natural features at Needles Eye Tunnel.
