8 days in Las Vegas & Page Itinerary

Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.

Visiting Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Lake Mead National Recreation Area will get you outdoors. Change things up with a short trip to Tom Devlin's Monster Museum in Boulder City (about 46 minutes away). There's lots more to do: get a taste of the local shopping with The Strip, ponder the design of Bellagio Fountains, examine the collection at The Mob Museum, and push the limits with an extreme tour.

Fort Lauderdale to Las Vegas is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. You'll gain 3 hours traveling from Fort Lauderdale to Las Vegas due to the time zone difference. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Fort Lauderdale in June: highs in Las Vegas hover around 103°F, while lows dip to 77°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 7th (Fri) so you can drive to Page.

Originally little more than a simple camp constructed to house workers who built a nearby dam on the Colorado River, Page is now a popular stop for travelers preparing a trip to Arizona's canyon country.

Take a break from the city and head to Bright Angel Point and Nature & Wildlife Tours. Change things up with these side-trips from Page: Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (in Kanab) and Grand Canyon National Park (Cape Royal & Grand Canyon National Park). Next up on the itinerary: take in the dramatic natural features at Horseshoe Bend.

You can drive from Las Vegas to Page in 5 hours. Other options are to fly; or do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone difference moving from Pacific Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time is 1 hour. Traveling from Las Vegas in June, things will get slightly colder in Page: highs are around 96°F and lows about 69°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Tue) to allow time to travel back home.
