Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Step out of Las Vegas to go to Boulder City and see Hoover Dam, which is approximately 50 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in the dramatic natural features at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, examine the collection at The Neon Museum, ponder the design of Fountains of Bellagio, and browse the different shops at The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort.

New York City to Las Vegas is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. The time zone difference moving from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Pacific Standard Time (PST) is minus 3 hours. You can drive from Las Vegas to Sedona in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and bus; or do a combination of shuttle and bus.
