Leland — 7 nights

Leland is an unincorporated community in the U.S. state of Michigan. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Fishtown and Van's Beach. Get out of town with these interesting Leland side-trips: Williamsburg (Sand Lakes Quiet Area, Guntzviller's Spirit of the Woods Museum, &more), Cherry Street Market (in Kalkaska) and Northport (Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum & Leelanau State Park). There's still lots to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Carlson's Fishery, head off the coast to South Manitou Island, relax in the rural setting at Tandem Cider, and play a few rounds at Bahle Farms.
For where to stay, traveler tips, photos, and other tourist information, you can read our Leland trip itinerary planner.
Cleveland to Leland is an approximately 7-hour car ride. You can also drive. Plan for a bit cooler nights when traveling from Cleveland in September since evenings lows in Leland dip to 54°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 8th (Thu) to allow time for the car ride back home.
