Horse Capital of the World

Known internationally as the "Horse Capital of the World," Lexington boasts a thriving economy resting largely on its thoroughbred racehorse industry.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Claiborne Farm and Taylor Made Farm. Explore Lexington's surroundings by going to Sun Valley Farm (in Versailles) and Castle & Key Distillery (in Frankfort). There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Unique Horse Farm Tours, explore the different monuments and memorials at Lexington Cemetery, walk around The Arboretum, and brush up on your knowledge of spirits at James E. Siesta Key draws most of its visitors with soft, white-quartz sand beaches and translucent ocean water.
Explore hidden gems such as Turtle Beach and Crescent Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Siesta Key: St. Petersburg (Scuba & Snorkeling & Imagine Museum), Venice Fishing Pier (in Venice) and Bradenton Beach City Pier (in Bradenton Beach). There's still lots to do: stroll the grounds of Sarasota National Cemetery, kick back and relax at Manatee Public Beach, identify plant and animal life at South Lido Park, and take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback.
