Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
New Orleans is known for historic sites, museums, nightlife, parks, and classes. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: take a stroll through Garden District, see the interesting displays at The National WWII Museum, go on a hair-raising tour with a ghost and vampire tour, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Royal Street.

Baton Rouge is the capital of the U.S. Kick off your visit on the 16th (Mon): steep yourself in history at Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site, then admire the striking features of Oak Alley Plantation, and then steep yourself in history at Nottoway Plantation. Here are some ideas for day two: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Martin, take in nature's colorful creations at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Mike the Tiger Habitat.
