Known for its Creole cuisine, rich musical tradition, and nearby swamps and plantations, New Orleans is one of the nation's oldest cities.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Jackson Square and Audubon Park. There's lots more to do: get to know the fascinating history of Garden District, admire the landmark architecture of St. Louis Cathedral, don't miss a visit to French Quarter, and shop like a local with Royal Street.

Baton Rouge is the capital of the U.S. On the 12th (Thu), steep yourself in history at Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site, admire the striking features of Oak Alley Plantation, and then steep yourself in history at Nottoway Plantation. On the 13th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: have fun and explore at Knock Knock Children's Museum and then stroll through Houmas House Plantation and Gardens.
