Baton Rouge is the capital of the U.S. Start off your visit on the 24th (Tue): look for all kinds of wild species at Mike the Tiger Habitat. Keep things going the next day: steep yourself in history at Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site, contemplate the long history of Oak Alley Plantation, and then steep yourself in history at Nottoway Plantation.

You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Jackson Square and Audubon Park. There's much more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Garden District, admire the striking features of St. Louis Cathedral, learn about all things military at The National WWII Museum, and stroll around New Orleans City Park.
