Maine's biggest and perhaps most vibrant city, Portland was established as a fishing village in 1633 and grew to become New England's largest port.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Marginal Way Walkway and Portland Head Light. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Casco Bay and Fishing Charters & Tours. Explore Portland's surroundings by going to Goose Rocks Beach (in Cape Porpoise) and Ogunquit Beach (in Ogunquit). Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island in Hancock County, Maine, United States. Escape the urban bustle at Gorham Mountain Trail and Otter Cliff.
