Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and Monastery of the Holy Spirit will appeal to history buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Marietta side-trips: Stone Mountain Park (in Stone Mountain), Silver Comet Trail (in Smyrna) and Rock City (in Lookout Mountain). And it doesn't end there: witness the site of a historic battle at Chickamauga Battlefield, steep yourself in history at Woodstock Visitors Center at Dean's Store, get engrossed in the history at Little White House, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Marietta Confederate Cemetery.
