Kapalua is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Old Lahaina Courthouse and Maria Lanakila Catholic Church. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Baldwin Home Museum and Lahaina Jodo Mission. Change things up with these side-trips from Kapalua: Maui Brewing Company (in Kihei), Ho'okipa Beach Park (in Paia) and Scuba & Snorkeling (in Wailuku). There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Ka'anapali Beach, stroll through Kapalua Coastal Trail, and see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour.

Wailea

Wailea is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. Take a break from the city and head to Ulua Beach and Big Beach. Visit Keawakapu Beach and Makena Beach for some beach relaxation. Go for a jaunt from Wailea to Haleakala National Park to see Pipiwai Trail about 1h 20 min away. There's still lots to do: kick back and relax at Wailea Beach Path and tour the pleasant surroundings at Little Beach.

Traveling by car from Kapalua to Wailea takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In January, daily temperatures in Wailea can reach 81°F, while at night they dip to 63°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
