Kihei — 7 nights

Stretching over 9.7 km (6 mi) of pristine south Maui coastline, Kihei is the island's driest and sunniest region, making it a perfect location for water activities and beach leisure.
Visiting Scuba & Snorkeling and Kapalua Coastal Trail will get you outdoors. Step off the beaten path and head to Ho'okipa Beach Park and Makena Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Lahaina (Wo Hing Temple Museum, Off-Road Tours, &more) and Kapalua (D.T. Fleming Park & Kapalua Beach). The adventure continues: tour the pleasant surroundings at Kamaole Beach Park II, enjoy the sand and surf at Keawakapu Beach, get some jogging in at Wailea Beach Path, and look for all kinds of wild species at Honolua Bay.

For other places to visit, photos, more things to do, and more tourist information, use the Kihei trip itinerary builder tool.

San Antonio to Kihei is an approximately 11.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Central Standard Time (CST) to Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HST), which is usually a -4 hour difference. Expect little chillier weather when traveling from San Antonio in July: highs in Kihei hover around 89°F, while lows dip to 72°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Mon) so you can fly back home.

The Valley Isle
The second largest of the eight major Hawaiian Islands, Maui features a rugged landscape ranging from high mountain peaks to deep valleys. Half of Maui lies within 8 km (5 mi) of the coastline, and most tourists come for the sandy beaches, many of them backed by fashionable resorts offering every modern convenience. Diversity of tourist attractions is Maui's major allure, with each of the island's shores offering a different set of vacation ideas. You can swim with dolphins, snorkel with sea turtles, or hike over the otherworldly landscapes of the world's biggest dormant volcano. A foodie paradise, the island also features dozens of small farms and gourmet restaurants.
