Hana — 2 nights

Hana is one of the most isolated communities in Hawaii, with a permanent population of just over 1,000 people.
On the 19th (Sun), ride a horse along Pipiwai Trail, then stop by Hasegawa's General Store, and then kick back and relax at Red Sand Beach - Kaihalulu Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 20th (Mon): kick back and relax at Wai'anapanapa State Park.

Los Angeles to Hana is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Pacific Standard Time to Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time, which is usually a -2 hour difference. Expect somewhat warmer evenings in Hana when traveling from Los Angeles in September, with lows around 72°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 21st (Tue) so you can go by car to Wailea.

Wailea is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. On the 21st (Tue), stop by Art and Craft Fair, then get outside with Outdoor Activities, and then kick back and relax at Kamaole Beach Park III. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Wailea Beach, stop by Sweet Paradise Chocolatier, and then enjoy the sand and surf at Ulua Beach.

You can drive from Hana to Wailea in 2.5 hours. September in Wailea sees daily highs of 90°F and lows of 72°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Thu) to allow time to drive to Kapalua.

Kapalua — 2 nights

Kapalua is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. Escape the urban bustle at Ka'anapali Beach and Kapalua Beach. Visit Napili Beach and D.T. Fleming Park for some beach relaxation. Step out of Kapalua with an excursion to Iao Valley in Wailuku--about 1h 5 min away. There's more to do: walk around Lahaina Banyan Court and stop by Pakaloha Bikinis.

Traveling by car from Wailea to Kapalua takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In September, daily temperatures in Kapalua can reach 86°F, while at night they dip to 74°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 25th (Sat) early enough to catch the flight back home.
