The second largest city in Michigan and a hub of furniture manufacturing, Grand Rapids bears the nickname "Furniture City." However, the destination's original name came from the rapids of the Grand River that once ran through the downtown area.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Tue): examine the collection at Gilmore Car Museum, test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, and then admire the natural beauty at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Keep things going the next day: see the interesting displays at Gerald R. Ford Museum, then kick back and relax at Oval Beach, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Holland State Park Beach.

Kick off your visit on the 8th (Thu): visit a coastal fixture at Mission Point Lighthouse and then explore the striking landscape of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Keep things going the next day: cruise along Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive and then sample some tasty brews at a beer tour and tasting.
