Paradise

Paradise is an unincorporated community in Whitefish Township, Chippewa County in the U.S. Start off your visit on the 11th (Tue): get engrossed in the history at Whitefish Point Light, contemplate the waterfront views at Tahquamenon Falls, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Tahquamenon Falls State Park. On your second day here, enjoy the sea views from Point Iroquois Lighthouse, then see the sky in a new way at Whitefish Point Bird Observatory, and then see the interesting displays at Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum.

Washington DC to Paradise is an approximately 8.5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Traveling from Washington DC in August, expect Paradise to be slightly colder, temps between 73°F and 53°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Saint Ignace.

Saint Ignace

Saint Ignace, usually written as St. Kick off your visit on the 13th (Thu): see the interesting displays at Museum of Ojibwa Culture, then take in the views from Mackinac Bridge, then stroll around Bridge View Park, and finally take some stellar pictures from Castle Rock. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 14th (Fri): take in the exciting artwork at Riverstone Gallery, make a trip to Soo Locks, then get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Museum Ship Valley Camp, then contemplate the long history of Tower of History, and finally take in the views from Sault Ste Marie International Bridge.

You can drive from Paradise to Saint Ignace in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and bus. Traveling from Paradise in August, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Saint Ignace, with lows of 59°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Fri) early enough to ride a ferry to Mackinac Island.
