Ironwood is a city in Gogebic County in the U.S. state of Michigan, about 18mi south of Lake Superior. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Sat): stroll around Miners Memorial Heritage Park. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Sun): tour the pleasant surroundings at Black River Harbor Recreation Area and then fly down the slopes at Copper Peak.

Calumet is a village in Calumet Township, Houghton County, in the U.S. state of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, that was once at the center of the mining industry of the Upper Peninsula. Venture out of the city with trips to Copper Harbor (Brockway Mountain Drive & Fort Wilkins State Park) and The Jampot (in Eagle Harbor). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Mineral Museum of Michigan and steep yourself in history at Quincy Mine.
