The glaciers from which Glacier National Park takes its name mostly dissipated eons ago, but they left behind a scoured landscape of high and steep mountain peaks, sparkling lakes, lush alpine meadows, and thick forests.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Thu): admire the verdant scenery at Logan Pass, then take a memorable drive along Going-to-the-Sun Road, and then take in the dramatic natural features at Grinnell Glacier. Keep things going the next day: admire the sheer force of St.Mary Falls, admire the sheer force of Virginia Falls, take some stellar pictures from Jackson Glacier Overlook, then hike along Iceberg Lake Trail, and finally explore the activities along Swiftcurrent Falls.
