Big Sky — 2 nights

Big Sky is a census-designated place (CDP) in Gallatin and Madison counties in southwestern Montana. Kids will appreciate attractions like Horseback Riding Tours and Ousel Falls Trail. Change things up with these side-trips from Big Sky: West Yellowstone (Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center & Yellowstone Big Gun Fun). Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Mon) so you can drive to Gardiner.

West Glacier — 4 nights

West Glacier is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in eastern Flathead County, Montana, United States. Family-friendly places like River Rafting & Tubing and Glacier National Park will thrill your kids. Explore West Glacier's surroundings by going to Glacier National Park (Virginia Falls, Going-to-the-Sun Road, &more). There's more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Trail of the Cedars and trek along Siyeh Pass.

You can fly from Gardiner to West Glacier in 6 hours. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of car, bus, and taxi. In July, West Glacier is somewhat warmer than Gardiner - with highs of 85°F and lows of 49°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 16th (Sat) to allow time for the flight back home.
