America's Wine Country

Located just 80 km (50 mi) north of San Francisco, Napa sits at the southern end of the scenic Napa Valley, one of the world's major wine regions.
Take a break from Napa with a short trip to Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga, about 38 minutes away. Dedicate the 4th (Thu) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Hess Persson Estates, do a tasting at Domaine Carneros, and stop by Oxbow Public Market.

Omaha to Napa is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone difference moving from Central Standard Time to Pacific Standard Time is minus 2 hours. Traveling from Omaha in August, expect Napa to be slightly colder, temps between 79°F and 55°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sat) to allow enough time to fly to Big Sur.

A sparsely populated area with stunning views, Big Sur attracts artists and tourists traveling California’s scenic Highway 1.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Sat): take in the views from Bixby Bridge. On the next day, admire the sheer force of McWay Falls, enjoy the sand and surf at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, then take in nature's colorful creations at Hawthorne Gallery, and finally stroll through Pfeiffer State Beach.

You can fly from Napa to Big Sur in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus, subway, train, and taxi. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Napa in August: highs in Big Sur hover around 70°F, while lows dip to 57°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Mon) to allow enough time to fly back home.
