Start off your visit on the 10th (Thu): take in the spiritual surroundings of Loretto Chapel, admire the masterpieces at Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, contemplate the long history of Santa Fe Plaza, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Canyon Road, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. On the next day, see the interesting displays at Museum of International Folk Art, make a trip to Meow Wolf, then take in the dramatic natural features at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, and finally stop by Wind River Trading Company.

Drive from Carlsbad to Santa Fe in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and flight. Traveling from Carlsbad in October, things will get little chillier in Santa Fe: highs are around 69°F and lows about 41°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 11th (Fri) to allow enough time to drive to Albuquerque.

Albuquerque remains one of the state's secret jewels, as its tourist attractions are often overshadowed by the more popular holiday destination of Santa Fe.
On the 12th (Sat), examine the collection at Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, then see the interesting displays at New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at San Felipe de Neri Church, and finally appreciate the extensive heritage of Albuquerque Old Town. On the 13th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Capilla de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe and then explore the striking landscape at Petroglyph National Monument.

Drive from Santa Fe to Albuquerque in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Santa Fe in October, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be a bit warmer in Albuquerque, with lows of 48°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 13th (Sun) to allow time for travel back home.
