Famed as the site of a purported UFO crash in 1947, the Roswell of today offers much more than alien research opportunities.
On the 2nd (Thu), see the interesting displays at International UFO Museum and Research Center, take a stroll through Downtown Historic District, then identify plant and animal life at Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge, and finally explore the activities along Lower Pecos River.

Pittsburgh to Roswell is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. The time zone difference moving from Eastern Standard Time to Mountain Standard Time is minus 2 hours. When traveling from Pittsburgh in April, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Roswell: temperatures range from 79°F by day to 45°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Thu) so you can catcht the bus to Alamogordo.

Alamogordo is the seat of Otero County, New Mexico, United States. Your day-by-day itinerary now includes White Sands Missle Range Museum as well as Alameda Park Zoo. Start off your visit on the 3rd (Fri): admire nature's wide array of creatures at Alameda Park Zoo, appreciate the history behind White Sands National Monument, and then learn about all things military at White Sands Missle Range Museum. Keep things going the next day: get curious at International Space Hall of Fame and then see the interesting displays at New Mexico Museum of Space History.

Traveling by bus from Roswell to Alamogordo takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In April, plan for daily highs up to 76°F, and evening lows to 46°F. On the 4th (Sat), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Albuquerque.

Traveling from Alamogordo in April, expect nights in Albuquerque to be about the same, around 43°F, while days are little chillier, around 71°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) so you can travel to Santa Fe.
