Nags Head — 1 night

Most visitors take a trip to Nags Head to enjoy the beach, but this Outer Banks town offers more than just waterside entertainment.
On the 15th (Sat), enjoy the sea views from Bodie Island Lighthouse. Keep things going the next day: fly like a bird with a parasailing or paragliding tour, then take a leisurely stroll along Nags Head Fishing Pier, then look for gifts at Forbes Candies, and finally explore the striking landscape at Jockey's Ridge State Park.

Charlotte to Nags Head is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and car. While traveling from Charlotte, expect little chillier days and about the same nights in Nags Head, ranging from highs of 82°F to lows of 70°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) so you can drive to Manteo.
