Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): admire the sheer force of Snoqualmie Falls and then get interesting insight from Fall City Wallaby Ranch. On your second day here, enjoy the sand and surf at Alki Beach, take a stroll through Pike Place Market, then explore the world behind art at Chihuly Garden and Glass, and finally enjoy breathtaking views from Space Needle.

Atlanta to Seattle is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Atlanta to Seattle, you'll gain 3 hours due to the time zone difference. Traveling by car from Seattle to Astoria takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, taxi, and bus; or take a bus. Plan for slightly colder temperatures traveling from Seattle in June, with highs in Astoria at 66°F and lows at 52°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Tue) early enough to go by car to Newport.

A town that survives on the sea, Newport's population of just over 10,000 supports a healthy commercial fishing industry.
Kick off your visit on the 8th (Wed): see majestic marine mammals with a dolphin and whale watching tour, identify plant and animal life at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, then enjoy the sand and surf at Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area, and finally stroll through Mike Miller Park. On the next day, take in the dramatic natural features at Devil's Churn, admire all the interesting features of Cape Perpetua Visitor Center - Siuslaw National Forest, and then kick back and relax at Nye Beach.
