Known primarily for its steel-related heritage and 446 bridges, Pittsburgh sits at the confluence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Sat): examine the collection at Bicycle Heaven and then see the interesting displays at Randyland. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 30th (Sun): get engrossed in the history at Senator John Heinz History Center, get curious at Carnegie Science Center, then examine the collection at The Nationality Rooms, and finally take an in-depth tour of Cathedral of Learning.

Chicago to Pittsburgh is an approximately 4-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. The time zone changes from Central Standard Time (CST) to Eastern Standard Time (EST), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Expect a daytime high around 79°F in June, and nighttime lows around 62°F. Located near the memorial park marking the site of one of the largest Civil War battles, the town of Gettysburg sits in a landscape of rolling green hills with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Gettysburg Diorama and Seminary Ridge Museum, Gettysburg. You'll explore and learn at Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center and United States Army Heritage and Education Center. There's much more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Shriver House Museum, contemplate the long history of Eisenhower National Historic Site, get engrossed in the history at Gettysburg Heritage Center, and see the interesting displays at Mister Ed's Elephant Museum.

You can do a combination of flight and taxi from Pittsburgh to Gettysburg in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of flight and car.
