Wilkes-Barre is a city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the county seat of Luzerne County. Kids will enjoy Asa Packer Mansion and Split Rock Resort Indoor Waterpark. Get out of town with these interesting Wilkes-Barre side-trips: Jim Thorpe (Old Jail Museum & Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary), No. 9 Coal Mine & Museum (in Lansford) and Hickory Run State Park (in White Haven).

Named after one of the area's prominent original settlers, East Stroudsburg is a lively college town located in the Poconos region of Pennsylvania.
Bring the kids along to Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark and Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm. You'll find plenty of places to visit near East Stroudsburg: Grey Towers National Historic Site (in Milford) and Dingmans Falls (in Dingmans Ferry). There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic scenery at Bushkill Falls, explore the striking landscape of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, cool off at Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark, and get some fabulous bargains at The Crossings Premium Outlets.

Getting from Wilkes-Barre to East Stroudsburg by car takes about 1.5 hours. In May, East Stroudsburg is a bit cooler than Wilkes-Barre - with highs of 66°F and lows of 45°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Sun) so you can go by car back home.
