Little Island

With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Get a sense of the local culture at Museo Historico de Culebra and Culebrita Lighthouse. Step out of the city life by going to Flamenco Beach and Playa Punta Soldado Beach. It doesn't end there: stroll through Zoni Beach and kick back and relax at Melones Beach.

Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S.
Visit Old San Juan and Sitio Histórico de San Juan for their historical value. Museo de Arte de Ponce and Museo del Mar are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting San Juan side-trips: Museo Castillo Serralles (in Ponce), El Yunque Rain Forest (in El Yunque National Forest) and Scuba & Snorkeling (in Fajardo). There's much more to do: admire the masterpieces at Museo de Las Americas, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Catedral Metropolitana Basilica de San Juan Bautista, browse the exhibits of Walter Otero Contemporary Art, and examine the collection at Museo del Tabaco Caguas.
