With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
Start off your visit on the 2nd (Fri): head off the coast to Culebrita Island, see the interesting displays at Museo Historico de Culebra, then kick back and relax at Zoni Beach, and finally kick back and relax at Tamarindo Beach.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
On the 3rd (Sat), enjoy the sea views from Puerto Ferro Lighthouse, take a leisurely stroll along Mosquito Pier, then take a leisurely stroll along Malecon, then glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, and finally kick back and relax at Secret Beach.

You can do a combination of flight and car from Culebra to Isla de Vieques in 2.5 hours. Another option is to ride a ferry. In August, daytime highs in Isla de Vieques are 88°F, while nighttime lows are 79°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sat) so you can travel to Rincon.

A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Sun): discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, identify plant and animal life at Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, then enjoy the sea views from El Faro Lighthouse, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Sandy Beach.

Ponce is both a city and a municipality in the southern part of Puerto Rico. Start off your visit on the 5th (Mon): examine the collection at Parque de Bombas, then admire the masterpieces at Museo de Arte de Ponce, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of our Lady of Guadaloupe, and finally head off the coast to Isla de Caja de Muertos.
