With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.

Orlando, USA to Culebra is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Orlando to Culebra. In July, daytime highs in Culebra are 90°F, while nighttime lows are 80°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Tue) early enough to travel to Arecibo.

Arecibo is a municipality on the northern coast of Puerto Rico (U.S.), on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, located north of Utuado and Ciales; east of Hatillo; and west of Barceloneta and Florida. Your day by day itinerary now includes Aventura Cueva Ventana. On the 15th (Wed), make a trip to Aventura Cueva Ventana and then Head underground at Cueva del Indio. Getting from Culebra to Arecibo by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of ferry, taxi, bus, and car. Expect a daytime high around 86°F in July, and nighttime lows around 76°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Thu) early enough to drive to El Yunque National Forest.

Kick off your visit on the 17th (Fri): tour the pleasant surroundings at El Yunque Rain Forest.

You can drive from Arecibo to El Yunque National Forest in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car and shuttle; or fly. In July, daytime highs in El Yunque National Forest are 89°F, while nighttime lows are 78°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 17th (Fri) so you can travel to Isla de Vieques.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.

Start off your visit on the 18th (Sat): take a leisurely stroll along Malecon and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Sun Bay Beach. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: kick back and relax at Caracas Beach and then stroll through La Chiva.

Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Sun) to allow time to travel back home.
