The capital city of Virginia, Richmond has diverse architecture, a large collection of monuments, and world-class museums that reveal the city's important role in American history.
Explore Richmond's surroundings by going to Washington DC (White House, Washington Monument, &more) and Colonial Williamsburg (in Williamsburg). There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, don't miss a visit to Maymont, explore the different monuments and memorials at Hollywood Cemetery, and take in nature's colorful creations at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.

Change things up with a short trip to Disneyland Park in Anaheim (about 36 minutes away). Pack the 23rd (Mon) with family-friendly diversions at Universal Studios Hollywood. There's lots more to do: see the sky in a new way at Griffith Observatory, see the interesting displays at The Getty Center, see a show at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and kick back and relax at Venice Beach and Boardwalk.
