Sabana Grande is a municipality of Puerto Rico (U.S.) located north of Lajas and Guánica; south of Maricao; east of San Germán; and west of Yauco. Kick off your visit on the 20th (Sat): take a peaceful walk through Bosque Estatal de Guanica and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Pozo de la Virgen Sabana Grande. Here are some ideas for day two: grab your bike and head to Sandra Farms Coffee and then head off the coast to Gilligan's Island.

Albany, USA to Sabana Grande is an approximately 11-hour combination of car and flight. The time zone difference moving from Eastern Standard Time to Atlantic Standard Time is 1 hour. Traveling from Albany in July, things will get a bit warmer in Sabana Grande: highs are around 90°F and lows about 80°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Sun) early enough to travel to Mayaguez.

Mayagüez is the eighth-largest municipality of Puerto Rico (U.S.). Your day by day itinerary now includes Scuba EcoTours. Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Mon): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Church of Porta Coeli, then get to know the resident critters at Zoologico Dr. Juan A. Rivero, and then head outdoors with Scuba EcoTours. On the next day, stroll through Playa Crashboat, steep yourself in history at Ermita San Antonio De Padua De La Tuna, and then stroll through Balneario de Boqueron.

Mayaguez is very close to Sabana Grande. In July, plan for daily highs up to 90°F, and evening lows to 80°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Tue) so you can catch the flight to San Juan.

Walled City

Founded by the Spanish in 1521, San Juan is the oldest city under U.S. jurisdiction and one of the oldest in the Americas.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Punta Tuna Lighthouse and Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. Holocaust Memorial Monument and Nuestra Senora del Perpetuo Socorro will appeal to history buffs. When in San Juan, make a side trip to see Playa La Villa Pesquera in Patillas, approximately Patillas away. There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Santurce, stroll around Parque del Indio, try to win big at Old San Juan Casino, and pause for some photo ops at Ballaja Sculpture.

Traveling by flight from Mayaguez to San Juan takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of car and shuttle. July in San Juan sees daily highs of 89°F and lows of 78°F at night. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 26th (Fri) to allow time for the flight back home.
