The Alamo City

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
The Alamo and Mission Trail are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Your inner history buff will appreciate Mission San Jose and San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral. Change things up with these side-trips from San Antonio: Austin (Austin Hindu Temple, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, &more), Kerrville (Kerrville Hills Winery, The Museum of Western Art, &more) and Cascade Caverns (in Boerne). There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Briscoe Western Art Museum, do a tasting at Duchman Family Winery, examine the collection at Witte Museum, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at St Joseph Catholic Church.

For where to stay, maps, reviews, and more tourist information, use the San Antonio trip itinerary website.

In April, daytime highs in San Antonio are 82°F, while nighttime lows are 60°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
