Astoria, named for famed fur trader John Jacob Astor, resides near the mouth of the Columbia River.
Start off your visit on the 10th (Wed): enjoy the sand and surf at Cannon Beach, stroll through Haystack Rock, then take in the views from Astoria-Megler Bridge, and finally pause for some photo ops at Astoria Column. On your second day here, admire the majestic nature at Fort Stevens State Park, examine the collection at Flavel House Museum, then pick up some new knowledge with Columbia River Maritime Museum, and finally don't miss a visit to Goonies House.

Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Fri): take in the waterfront at Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, then admire the masterpieces at Chihuly Garden and Glass, then take a stroll through Pike Place Market, and finally enjoy the sand and surf at Alki Beach.
