Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.

Appreciate the collections at Chihuly Garden and Glass and Seattle Art Museum. Pike Place Market and West Point Lighthouse are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seattle: Tahoma National Cemetery (in Kent), Bloedel Reserve (in Bainbridge Island) and Lake Wilderness Arboretum (in Maple Valley). There's still lots to do: trek along Staircase Rapids Nature Trail, admire the natural beauty at Sunset Hill Park, look for all kinds of wild species at Woodard Bay Natural Resources Conservation Area, and walk around Picnic Point Park.
