Sterling, Virginia is a census-designated place (CDP) in Loudoun County, Virginia. James Madison Museum and Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont will appeal to museum buffs. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Stone Mountain Vineyards and Rappahannock Cellars. Explore Sterling's surroundings by going to R.H. There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum, steep yourself in history at Little Round Top, get engrossed in the history at Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, and witness the site of a historic battle at Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center.
