A tiny town with big tourist appeal, Pigeon Forge bills itself as the "Center of Fun in the Smokies." Just a short drive from the national park protecting the diverse plant and animal life of the Great Smoky Mountains, the town features numerous places to visit, such as bars, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and shops.
Get some cultural insight at Smoky Mountain Knife Works and Mill Bridge Winery. Visiting Grotto Falls Trail and Clingmans Dome will get you outdoors. Change things up with a short trip to Forbidden Caverns in Sevierville (about 30 minutes away). There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic scenery at Laurel Falls, tour the pleasant surroundings at Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, take in the exciting artwork at Fowler's Clay Works, and get your game on at The Escape Game Pigeon Forge.

Start off your visit on the 6th (Thu): contemplate the long history of Lotz House Museum, witness the site of a historic battle at Carter House, then take in the history at Carnton, and finally explore the different monuments and memorials at McGavock Confederate Cemetery. On the 7th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take a peaceful walk through Bowie Nature Park, view the masterpieces at Gallery 202, and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Downtown Franklin.
