Kick off your visit on the 9th (Mon): steep yourself in history at Lotz House Museum, explore the galleries of Carter House, then browse the exhibits of Carnton, and finally explore the different monuments and memorials at McGavock Confederate Cemetery. Keep things going the next day: trek along Bowie Nature Park, identify plant and animal life at Timberland Park, and then wander the streets of Downtown Franklin.
