One of the country's most popular shopping destinations, Dallas and its sprawling suburbs include more shopping centers per capita than any other urban center in America.
Kick off your visit on the 9th (Mon): pause for some photo ops at Dealey Plaza National Historic Landmark District and then examine the collection at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. Here are some ideas for day two: admire the natural beauty at Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, then see the interesting displays at Perot Museum of Nature and Science, and then get your game on at The Escape Game Dallas.

Chicago to Dallas is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Chicago in September, expect Dallas to be a bit warmer, temps between 92°F and 73°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Tue) so you can travel to San Antonio.

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Wed): tour the pleasant surroundings at The San Antonio River Walk, then steep yourself in history at The Alamo, then take in nature's colorful creations at San Antonio Botanical Garden, and finally contemplate the long history of Mission San Jose. On the 12th (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at SeaWorld San Antonio and then pause for some serene contemplation at San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral.

Fly from Dallas to San Antonio in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In September, plan for daily highs up to 94°F, and evening lows to 73°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Fredericksburg.
