An old colonial city and a busy cruise ship port less than an hour's drive from Houston, Galveston sits on Galveston Island and serves as a popular vacation destination for both domestic and international travelers.
On the 26th (Tue), steep yourself in history at Moody Mansion and then stroll the grounds of Old City Cemetery. Keep things going the next day: see the interesting displays at Galveston Railroad Museum, engage your brain at Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum, then get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour, and finally get a taste of the local shopping with MiArt Gallery.

As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Fri): tour the pleasant surroundings at The San Antonio River Walk, steep yourself in history at The Alamo, then take in the history at Mission San Jose, then take in the history at Mission Concepcion, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral.
