As the state’s second largest city, San Antonio embodies Texas’ rich cultural heritage while maintaining the Old West charm of an oil town.
Kick off your visit on the 21st (Fri): take in the history at Mission San Juan, admire the architecture and history at Mission San Jose, then contemplate the long history of The Alamo, then get a taste of the local shopping with The San Antonio River Walk, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at San Fernando De Bexar Cathedral. On the 22nd (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: Head underground at Natural Bridge Caverns and then steep yourself in history at King William Historic District.

Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
Take a break from the city and head to Congress Avenue Bridge / Austin Bats and Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Head to South Congress Avenue and 6th Streetfor some retail therapy. Take a break from Austin with a short trip to Hamilton Pool Preserve in Dripping Springs, about 46 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: admire the striking features of Texas State Capitol, hike along Lady Bird Lake Hike-and-Bike Trail, get to know the fascinating history of Mount Bonnell, and contemplate the long history of The Driskill.
