Ogunquit means "beautiful place by the sea" in the language of the Native Americans who inhabited the region long ago, and this remains an accurate description of this holiday destination today.
You'll get in some beach time at Ogunquit Beach and Old Orchard Beach. Get in touch with nature at Perkins Cove and Short Sands Beach. Step out of Ogunquit with an excursion to Parsons Beach in Kennebunk--about 32 minutes away. There's still lots to do: get to know the fascinating history of Marginal Way Walkway, enjoy the sea views from Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse, kick back and relax at Wells Beach, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Footbridge Beach.

To see maps, other places to visit, and other tourist information, you can read our Ogunquit tour itinerary planner .

Columbus to Ogunquit is an approximately 7-hour combination of flight and bus. You can also do a combination of flight, taxi, and bus; or drive. Plan for slightly colder temperatures traveling from Columbus in June, with highs in Ogunquit at 75°F and lows at 52°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
