One of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, Tucson is a city on a cultural crossroads, with European, Native American, Mexican, and Asian residents blending and sometimes conflicting with one another.
Go for a jaunt from Tucson to Mount Lemmon to see Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter Observatory about 1h 35 min away. There's still lots to do: get a new perspective on nature at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, cruise along Mt. Lemmon Scenic Byway, take in the exciting artwork at Madaras Gallery, and explore the stunning scenery at Sabino Canyon.

Tombstone — 3 nights

Founded in 1877 as a mining camp, Tombstone became one of the most storied towns of the "Wild West." As one of the last frontier boomtowns in the United States, Tombstone prospered between 1880 and 1890, attracting cattle rustlers and outlaws.
Get out of town with these interesting Tombstone side-trips: Chiricahua National Monument (in Willcox) and Benson (Kartchner Caverns State Park & Double R Ranch). There's much more to do: get engrossed in the history at O.K. Corral, examine the collection at Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park, delve into the mystery of Bird Cage Theatre, and stroll the grounds of Boothilll Graveyard.
