A big city with a small-town feel, Portland is home to the country's biggest rose test garden, perched on a hill overlooking downtown.
Go for a jaunt from Portland to Bridal Veil to see Multnomah Falls about 38 minutes away. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Tue): take in the dramatic scenery at Virginia Falls, then get great views at Jackson Glacier Overlook, then cruise along Going-to-the-Sun Road, and finally tour the pleasant surroundings at Grinnell Glacier. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Wed): hike along Granite Park Trail, then contemplate the waterfront views at Lake McDonald, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Avalanche Lake.
